Enrollment is open for Pre-Kindergarten! Children must be four years old on or before September 1 of the school year and must qualify by meeting one of the eligibility criteria listed below.

Midlothian ISD will host Pre-Kindergarten Parent Information and Enrollment Night on Tuesday, April 28, at J.R. Irvin Elementary at 6:00 p.m. Enrollment assistance will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Pre-Kindergarten hours are 7:30 a.m. - 3:15 p.m.
District transportation is not provided.
Children must be four years old on or before September 1 of the school year AND must meet one of the following eligibility criteria.
Pre-Kindergarten Eligibility
Your child must qualify by meeting one of the following criteria:
- Unable to speak or comprehend the English language
- Will have to be tested by the campus to qualify
- Educationally disadvantaged
- Homeless, as defined by 42 U.S.C. Section 11302 and 11434
- A McKinney-Vento form must be completed and approved by Student Services.
- The child qualified and attended a public school for a PreK 3/4 year old program
- We will need the previous school's information and info on how they qualified
- Have a parent who is on active military duty, or is a child of an injured, disabled, or deceased member of the armed forces
- Military documentation will be needed
- Is, or ever has been, in the conservatorship (foster care) of the Department of Family and Protective Services following an adversary hearing held as provided by Section 262.201, Family Code
- Documentation of current or previous foster care will need to be provided
- Is the child of a person who has been nominated for or received the Star of Texas Award as:
- a peace officer under Section 3106.002, Government Code;
- a firefighter under Section 3106.003, Government Code; or
- an emergency medical first responder under Section 3106.004, Government Code
- Is the child of a Midlothian ISD Classroom Teacher
- Tuition-based Pre-K will be offered to non-classroom staff

Pre-Kindergarten Immunization Requirements
- Child’s complete immunization record:
- Pre-Kindergarten students MUST be immunized for DTP, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hep-A, Hep-B, and Varicella (Chickenpox), HIB and Pneumococcal Conjugate vaccine. Click here for the Texas Minimum State Vaccine requirements.
