District Calendar

The MISD Learning Calendar incorporates professional learning days spread throughout the year that will provide teachers with additional time for professional learning, lesson planning and classroom preparation.

The days, color-coded as pink on the calendar, are student holidays. Intentionally carving out additional professional learning time in the calendar is meant to support rigor in the curriculum and student success. Students will still attend the same number of academic minutes as they have in previous school years.

The Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2026-27 Learning Calendar at its February 17, 2026 meeting. The adopted calendar includes six "Pink Days" designated as professional learning and planning days for staff and student holidays. The calendar also meets the state's requirement to provide a minimum of 75,600 instructional minutes and 187 teacher contract days.

• First Day of School: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
• Thanksgiving Break: November 23 - 27, 2026
• Winter Break: December 21, 2026 - January 1, 2027
• Spring Break: March 15 - 19, 2027
• Last Day of School: Thursday, May 20, 2027

The district is working to produce the 2026-27 "Ready for Print" calendar.
