Random Drug Testing
At Midlothian ISD we aim to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for every student. The safety and well-being of our students is always the top priority for our administrators, principals and teachers. In an effort to help our students make wise and healthy choices, as well as reduce peer pressure to use illegal substances, the district has reintroduced and refined its random drug testing policy. This policy went into effect in the 2018-19 school year.
2021-2022 Random Drug Testing Parent Orientation
Midlothian ISD has a mandatory random drug testing program for students in 9th - 12th grade who wish to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities and/or request a permit to park their car on school property. The goal of this program is to help our students make smart and safe choices.
On August 12, 2021, we held a virtual parent orientation that covered the program, what happens if a student has a positive test result and answered parent questions. It is not mandatory to watch this orientation, but we do highly encourage you to take a few moments to learn more about the program.
