All qualified applicants will be contacted by HR to schedule an interview.
Required State Fingerprinting Process
If you have not previously been fingerprinted through TEA, you will be sent an email from Midlothian ISD HR with details to complete the fingerprinting process. Please complete your fingerprinting as soon as possible.
The 80th Legislative Session authorized Senate Bill 9 which expands the criminal history review by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) to all public school employees including substitutes. Substitutes must complete this process prior to being hired at MISD. Substitutes must pay the fee for this process. These fees will not be reimbursed by MISD. If you have had your fingerprints completed for another Texas School District, you should not have to have this process repeated; however, if you have completed fingerprinting for other reasons (including childcare providers, handgun license, etc.) you will be required to have them registered again to meet the requirements outlined in Senate Bill 9. Click here to view TEA Fingerprinting Rules and Senate Bill 9. Please note that hiring is dependent upon approved background check.
3. New Substitute Orientation
Once your background check has cleared and you have completed the online onboarding forms, you will be invited to attend a New Hire Substitute Orientation. We will send the majority of instructions, invitations and information through email, so please check your email frequently for important information.
You will need to provide the following documents when you attend orientation:
- I-9 Documentation - see eligible documents here.
- Social Security Card (for Payroll)
- Official transcripts from a college or university showing your official college hours and the date your degree is conferred, if applicable. (NOTE: Official college transcripts will not be kept. Copies and unofficial transcripts cannot be accepted). If college hours have not been acquired, a high school transcript or equivalent is required. Electronic transcripts may be sent directly from the University/College to deborah.essary@midlothianisd.org.
Please be prepared to begin Substitute Teaching following your New Hire Orientation.
