Student success at HOSA International Leadership Conference: Speaking Skills
Midlothian High School senior London Coffman placed 5th in the event Speaking Skills at the HOSA International Leadership Conference held in Houston in late June. Coffman is the current President of the MHS HOSA Chapter. Throughout the year, she placed 2nd at the Area Competition and 2nd at the State Competition before capturing 5th at Internationals. Over 10,000 students from around the world attended the leadership conference, including those from Canada, Mexico, and China. Coffman's competition, Speaking Skills, challenged her to create a four-minute, memorized speech on the topic, "Dare To Create," which, for her, emphasized what she thought the world of medicine is in the present and the future.
Student saves a life
MISD is proud to celebrate Midlothian High School student Julio Ambris. He utilized the lifesaving skills he learned through the MHS Health Science program’s CPR training to save a life last spring.
