Trustees celebrate academic excellence and College Board recognitions

College Board annually recognizes National Commended Scholars and awards academic honors through their National Recognition Program

On Monday, November 18, Midlothian ISD trustees celebrated excellence in academics. The College Board annually recognizes the top scorers on the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test as National Commended Scholars.

Five MISD Class of 2025 students are among the 34,000 students in the nation to receive this high honor and are recognized as Top 2% scorers.

The College Board National Recognition Programs award academic honors to underrepresented students. The national recognition programs include the National African American Recognition Program, National Hispanic Recognition Program, National Indigenous Recognition Program, National Rural and Small Town Recognition Program, and (new in 2024) National First Generation Recognition.
