Tracy Crawford recognized for excellence in reading instruction

Midlothian ISD is proud to recognize Tracy Crawford of LaRue Miller Elementary as the recipient of the annual Jean Coleman Award for Excellence in Reading Education.

Crawford exemplifies excellence in reading instruction through her deep knowledge of the science of reading, thoughtful use of student data, and commitment to meeting the needs of every learner. Her influence extends beyond her classroom as she collaborates with colleagues, shares effective practices, and helps her team turn assessment results into targeted instruction. Through her expertise, compassion, and unwavering belief in every child, Tracy develops strong readers and helps students see themselves as confident, capable learners.

Presented annually, the award recognizes a second-grade reading teacher who demonstrates excellence in reading instruction and is nominated by peers and campus administrators. The Jean Coleman family established the award to honor Coleman's lasting contributions to reading education in Midlothian. Coleman served as a second-grade teacher in MISD for 25 years. Her dedication to students and reading instruction continues to inspire educators across the district.
