MISD welcomes new trustee John Knight, announces board leadership updates

Midlothian ISD officially welcomed John Knight as the newest member of its Board of Trustees, representing Place 4. Knight, an experienced economic developer and active community volunteer, was sworn in during the district's monthly board meeting on May 13, 2025. His term will run through May 2028.

Knight was sworn in alongside returning trustee Jessica Ward, who represents Place 5. Ward began her term in May 2022, which will continue through May 2028.

In addition to the swearing-in ceremony, the board announced new leadership positions for the upcoming year. Ryan Timm was selected as board president, Gary Vineyard as vice president, and Jessica Ward will continue as board secretary.

Knight brings a wealth of experience to the board, with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University. Deeply engaged in civic service, he volunteers with Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), serves on the board of the Court Appointed Advocate Network, sits on the advisory board for Methodist Midlothian Medical Center, and donates his time to Mentors Care.

He and his wife, Angie, are the proud parents of three children: Jalyn (18), Landry (16), and London (16).
