MISD principals give annual academic progress updates to trustees

As part of a continued commitment to transparency and storytelling, Midlothian ISD principals are sharing annual campus presentations with the MISD Board of Trustees during regular board meetings. Each meeting features updates from one to three schools, offering trustees and the community a meaningful look inside MISD campuses.

The presentations are designed to provide a comprehensive snapshot of each school, including academic progress on state and local assessments, demographic data, campus accolades and highlights from the school year. Principals also share insights into school culture, special events and programs that shape the student experience.

Many presentations have included student speakers, along with campus administrators and teacher leaders, bringing authentic voices and perspectives to the boardroom. Together, the reports summarize what learning looks like day-to-day and celebrate the people and programs that support student success.

Each MISD campus presents once per year. The 2025-26 school year marks the second year this practice has been implemented, and the presentations have quickly become a favorite among trustees. During this fall semester, the Board of Trustees has received campus updates from Baxter Elementary, Miller Elementary, The MILE, Walnut Grove Middle School, Dieterich Middle School, Vitovsky Elementary, Mt. Peak Elementary, and Frank Seale Middle School.

Community members can view these presentations through the district's board meetings on demand feature, available on the MISD website.
