MISD launches Facility Planning Committee
MISD launches Facility Planning Committee
Midlothian ISD continues to be ranked among the fastest growing school districts in the region. At its April 3 board workshop meeting, the Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees voted 6-0 to adopt the official charge for the 2025 Citizens' Facility Planning Committee. The action marks the beginning of a critical step in planning for future growth and facility needs in MISD. The committee will include parents, students, staff, community members and business leaders from across the district who will represent the MISD community. Their work will focus on assessing facility needs, analyzing growth data and developing a fiscally responsible recommendation for the Board of Trustees to consider. They will develop and prioritize potential projects, including new construction, renovations or additions, technology and transportation needs, land acquisition consideration, and other needs that may arise from the committee’s findings or through district and community input.
"Engaging our community in this work is important," said Superintendent Dr. David Belding. "The committee will help us plan for the future to ensure our facilities and resources align to the needs of students while remaining good fiscal stewards of our resources."
The committee is expected to meet through the months of May, June and July. Updates on the committee's work and progress will be shared on the MISD website and communication channels including email newsletters and social media.
