Students can participate through a Youth Writing, Art, and Project Contest
The City of Midlothian has declared April 2024 as Community Kindness Month and the Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees adopted a proclamation at its March meeting declaring MISD's support of the city's efforts and plans to shine a bright light on the importance of kindness throughout April. The City is organizing a number of activities throughout the month focused on the theme of "Kindness Eclipses All," including art and essay contest activities for MISD students. So while Texas prepares for April’s total solar eclipse, the Midlothian City Council, the Midlothian School Board of Trustees and the Midlothian Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to proclaim April 2024 Community Month of Kindness in Midlothian, TX.
Funded by a grant from Midlothian Community Development Corporation, Kindness Month activities include a student Writing, Art, and Project Contest, a community-wide Kindness Challenge, and Senior Citizens Kindness Bingo. Additionally, “Kindness Eclipses All” bookmarks will be available from the public library and school libraries. “Fifty Ways to be Kind” posters will be displayed in businesses around the city. If parents see their child come home from school wearing a “Kindness Eclipses All” sticker, quite likely someone caught them in the act of being kind.
Information about all Kindness Month activities, including contest rules for the Youth Writing, Art, and Project Contest and can be found on the city’s website at https://www.midlothian.tx.us/Kindness-Month.
The contest deadline is April 23.
