MISD celebrates School Board Recognition Month
MISD celebrates School Board Recognition Month
January is School Board Recognition Month and Midlothian ISD joins districts across Texas in celebrating its trustees for their dedication and commitment to the district and our students. At the January School Board Meeting, the district honored trustees with special presentations made by district principals and MISD students.
This year’s theme is Leadership for Tomorrow's Texas. The theme highlights the profound impact trustees have on our great state and its future. It demonstrates the level of commitment and invaluable service school board members have on local communities. Trustees are elected by their communities to champion the needs of students and enhance educational opportunities. We celebrate our MISD Trustees. We want to emphasize that they are an essential connection between our schools and the community we serve.
MISD trustees volunteer their time and talents to serve our students. During their three-year school board term, they spend hundreds of hours attending board meetings, community events, school athletic competitions, fine arts performances, and many different school activities to show your support for our students and their families. Trustees also spend time preparing for monthly meetings by reading and studying board packet materials. They learn all they can about K-12 school districts, including information on maintenance and operations, finances and curriculum to help guide and shape our schools.
The entire Midlothian community is invited to Thank a Trustee this month as we honor and recognize our seven Board of Trustees here in Midlothian ISD.
