MISD Athletics honors top coaches for leadership and excellence

Midlothian ISD Athletics and Methodist Midlothian Medical Center partnered to recognize the district’s outstanding coaches during the annual Athletics Department Professional Development Day.

The MISD Athletics Coaches of the Year Awards celebrate excellence in coaching while recognizing the leadership, mentorship and lasting impact coaches have on student-athletes across the district. This year’s awards honor achievements from the 2025–26 athletic season.

With the new school year beginning, the timing of the awards is intentional. Many athletic programs remained active and competitive throughout the summer, making the annual professional development day an ideal opportunity to celebrate coaches before the new school year officially began. The awards ceremony is now a permanent part of the MISD Athletics annual kickoff.

“We’re proud to partner with Midlothian ISD Athletics to recognize these exceptional coaches who invest so much in the lives of our students,” said Kasey Cheshier, MHA, Director of Community Relations at Methodist Midlothian. “These awards celebrate much more than wins and championships. They honor the leadership, character and commitment it takes to inspire young people and help them succeed both on and off the field.”

Middle School Coach of the Year: Bobby Evers, Frank Seale Middle School Boys Coordinator
Evers was recognized for creating a student-centered culture that inspires excellence every day and for transforming Frank Seale Middle School Athletics into an environment where coaches and student-athletes are challenged, supported and empowered to reach their full potential.

Assistant Coach of the Year: Blaine Crouse, Midlothian Heritage High School Football Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Track Coach
Crouse was recognized for his unwavering commitment to student-athletes and for consistently investing countless hours mentoring young people, building meaningful relationships and creating a culture where every athlete feels valued.

Head Coach of the Year: Jennifer Haltom, Midlothian High School Head Softball Coach and Girls Coordinator
Haltom led the Lady Panthers to a district championship while continuing to build a culture rooted in pride, accountability and sustained excellence. As Girls Coordinator, she also dedicated herself to supporting female athletics across the district and ensuring every coach and student-athlete feels valued.

Clif White Legacy Award: Angie Evans, Midlothian Heritage High School Head Girls Basketball Coach and Assistant Campus Coordinator
Presented by Meagan White, this award honors the lasting legacy of beloved coach Clif White and recognizes a coach who leads with heart, serves others and, true to Coach White’s spirit, never forgets to “bring the juice.” Evans was selected after leading the Lady Jaguars to their first-ever 5A basketball district championship while establishing a culture of excellence, toughness and pride that extends far beyond the basketball court.

MISD Athletics Servant Leader Award: Audrie Bowers, Walnut Grove Middle School Girls Coordinator
Bowers was recognized for her selfless commitment to serving student-athletes, fellow coaches and the Midlothian ISD community. Through her compassion, encouragement and leadership, she models the values of character, service and integrity while ensuring every student knows they are valued both on and off the court.
