The Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theater Awards (HSMTA) were created to recognize and support excellence in high school musical theater in North Texas. Students and educators are recognized with an annual awards ceremony modeled after the Tony Awards®, which includes performance and production award categories.
MHS and HHS were among 75 high schools (1A-6A schools including private schools) to participate in the 2024 Broadway Dallas High School Musical Theater Awards (HSMTA). Both programs earned coveted nominations for their spring musicals. At the May 24 HSMTA awards ceremony at Dallas Fair Park Music Hall, Midlothian High School's performance of Chicago (Teen Edition) was awarded Outstanding Direction. They were one of 10 North Texas schools nominated in the outstanding direction category. See the full list of HSMTA winners here.
