Christopher Cravey selected to lead Midlothian High School

Familiar leader named next principal of MHS

Midlothian ISD has named Christopher Cravey as the next principal of Midlothian High School. Cravey brings more than a decade of experience in education to his role. He has served the MHS school community since 2022.

Cravey currently serves as one of the Associate Principals at Midlothian High School, where he has helped lead the school’s campus facility operations, student services, school culture and instructional programs. His leadership responsibilities have included contributions toward teacher support and development, campus safety, student achievement initiatives, graduation planning, and attendance improvement efforts. He succeeds Dr. Amanda Rodgers who was recently selected to serve as Midlothian ISD’s Executive Director of Elementary Education.

Since joining Midlothian ISD, Cravey has played an integral role in supporting the continued success and academic growth of Midlothian High School. Prior to joining Midlothian ISD, he served in multiple leadership roles in Ennis ISD, including assistant principal and interim principal at the middle school level. 

Chris is a servant leader with a strong commitment to excellence and a deep investment in the Midlothian High School community,” said Superintendent Dr. David Belding. “He brings a clear vision for the future of MHS while providing the stability and continuity that will encourage the campus to continue building on its strong tradition of excellence. Chris is well equipped and prepared to lead the campus he knows so well, into its next chapter.”

Cravey holds a Master of Education in Educational Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in History with a concentration in History Education from The University of Texas at Arlington. He is certified as a principal, holds an ESL certification and is a certified T-TESS appraiser.

“I am incredibly honored and excited to serve as the next principal of Midlothian High School,” said Cravey. “It’s a privilege to continue serving the amazing students, staff and families who make our campus so special. I look forward to building on the incredible work already taking place, supporting staff and ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow and succeed!”

As Principal of Midlothian High School, Cravey will continue to partner with students, staff, families and the community to foster a culture of academic excellence, meaningful relationships and opportunities that prepare every student for success beyond graduation.

Midlothian High School serves students in grades 9-12. It is an “A” rated TEA campus with a 99.5 percent college, career and military ready status for the Class of 2026. The campus is recognized across the State of Texas for its commitment to academic excellence, student achievement and strong tradition of leadership, service and school pride.
