CFO announces retirement

Chief Financial Officer Sandy Bundrick will retire after 20 years of service in Midlothian ISD in December. She joined the MISD Finance Department in 2005 as an Accountant, was promoted to Controller in 2013 and has served as the Chief Financial Officer for the last two years, overseeing the finance, child nutrition, maintenance, custodial, transportation, and technology departments.

"We are thankful for the incredible service Sandy has provided to the staff, students and community of Midlothian ISD throughout her 20 years of service,” said Superintendent Dr. David Belding. “Her commitment has been essential to our legacy of success and we congratulate her on her retirement.”

MISD continues to be recognized annually for its strong fiscal management practices. During her tenure, the district has earned a Superior Rating on the state’s school financial accountability system, the School Financial Integrity Rating System of Texas (FIRST), for 22 consecutive years. The district has also earned the prestigious Award of Excellence in Financial Management and Award of Merit for Purchasing Operations from the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). The 2024 Award of Excellence was presented to only 32 school districts in Texas and the Award of Merit to only 77 districts. MISD has also been the recipient of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Transparency Stars for Traditional Finances and Debt Obligations since 2017.

Bundrick assisted in implementing the 2016 Bond Program which was completed on time and within budget. She was also instrumental in the opening the district's recent golf practice facility, which was funded through project savings from the bond program. The General Operating Fund balance has grown over $20 million.

“Over the past 20 years, MISD has been more than a place to work, it has been family and will always hold a special place in my heart,” said Bundrick. “I want to thank the Board of Trustees and Administration for the opportunity to serve this excellent district. I am beyond excited to start this next chapter of my life, which will include a lot of new adventures in new places.”

Bundrick will remain with the district through the end of the fall semester to assist with a smooth transition.
