Bond 2025 Promise in Progress: June 2026

First Bond 2025 construction project begins at Midlothian High School
Midlothian ISD has officially launched the first construction project funded through the voter-approved Bond 2025 program this summer. The district held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at Midlothian High School on June 17 to acknowledge the start of the expansive roof replacement project.

The initiative includes the replacement of approximately 300,000 square feet of roofing at Midlothian High School and represents the first phase of planned campus improvements included in Proposition A, the bond package dedicated to growth and existing schools. District leaders, staff and project partners celebrated the milestone and recognized the community investment that made the project possible. The roof replacement project will extend the life of the campus while supporting a safe and reliable learning environment for students and staff.

“This project represents more than the start of a construction project,” said Superintendent Dr. David Belding. “It represents our commitment to delivering on the promises made to our community through the Bond 2025 program. We are grateful for the trust of our voters and support of our trustees and community members.”

The roof replacement is one of several projects included in Proposition A that voters approved last November. Board President Ryan Timm emphasized the significance of reaching the first visible milestone in the bond program. "Projects like this begin long before construction starts," said Timm. "They begin with a community that believes in its schools and invests in its future, and while this project is focused on a roof replacement, what we’re really spotlighting is our shared commitment to providing students and teachers with safe, reliable, and well-maintained learning environments."

The district is partnering with Garland and F.W. Walton to complete the project. Construction teams will work to maintain a safe environment while minimizing disruptions throughout the process.

As additional Bond 2025 projects move from planning to construction, Midlothian ISD will continue to provide regular updates to keep the community informed about project progress, timelines and stewardship of bond resources.
