10,000 new student devices arriving across MISD schools

Thanks to the support of Midlothian voters, new student Chromebooks funded through Bond 2025 are beginning to make their way into classrooms and into the hands of students across Midlothian ISD.

The district will roll out 10,000 new Chromebooks by grade level during the month of September and early October. The first distribution began the second week of school with the delivery of class sets to all third-grade classrooms. All elementary students in grades 2-5 will use Chromebooks as classroom sets. Grades pre-K through first grade classrooms will receive tablets later this fall. Elementary students will not bring devices home. The devices will remain at school for use by students during the school day as needed. 

The second phase of Chromebook distribution will be to students in grades 9-12 who will be individually assigned a new Chromebook that they will bring home daily. The third phase will be to middle school students followed by elementary grades 2, 4 and 5 during the month of September.
