As part of the ongoing Bond 2025 implementation, the Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees approved the purchase of new student technology devices and reviewed conceptual plans for the district's future Career and Technical Education (CTE) center during the June board meeting.

First Bond 2025 construction project begins at Midlothian High School
Midlothian ISD has officially launched the first construction project funded through the voter-approved Bond 2025 program this summer. The district held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at Midlothian High School on June 17 to acknowledge the start of the expansive roof replacement project.

Midlothian ISD announced the selection of Jeremy Dearborn as Associate Principal of Midlothian Heritage High School. Dearborn succeeds James Spradley, who was recently selected to serve as the district’s Assistant Director of Athletics.

Midlothian ISD has named Dr. Kyle Murphy as the new assistant principal of McClatchey Elementary School. Murphy succeeds Dr. Bradley Pennington, who recently accepted a principal position with another school district.

Midlothian ISD has named Kierstan Smith as head volleyball coach at Midlothian High School and Lehi Benton as head wrestling coach at Midlothian Heritage High School. 

Midlothian ISD has selected three experienced educational leaders to fill existing executive director positions that will become vacant this summer. The Board of Trustees approved the recommendations at a special meeting on June 1.

Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees thanked retiring trustee Tami Tobey at its May meeting. The district also officially welcomed new trustee Brandi Vess to Place 6 and swore in incumbent trustee Ed Harrison for a second term in Place 7.

Midlothian ISD is moving forward with the development of a full-time virtual learning program after district leaders have spent the past several months researching virtual learning opportunities and evaluating community interest. The program will launch with the start of the 2026-27 school year at the high school level.

Heather Shelton has been named the Midlothian ISD Director of PEIMS. Shelton brings nearly a decade of experience serving MISD in a variety of capacities within the PEIMS and student information services divisions. Most recently, she served as the district’s PEIMS Coordinator.

The 2025-26 school year was another year of achievement and excellence in academics, athletics and fine arts. Midlothian ISD students earned recognition at the state and national level while continuing to demonstrate the district's commitment to inspiring excellence inside and outside the classroom.

Midlothian ISD has named two new head soccer coaches to lead the next chapter of the highly successful soccer programs at Midlothian High School. Jessica Perez-Woodrum has been selected as the new head boys soccer coach and Adrian Ramirez has been named the new head girls soccer coach.

The Midlothian ISD Bond 2025 Oversight Committee held its first meeting on April 27, marking an important step the the implementation of the voter approved bond program. Comprised of community members, the group will carry on the work of the Facility Planning Committee that met last spring on the bond project recommendations that are now part of the approved bond program.

As part of our Midlothian ISD Bond Program implementation, a Teacher Technology Cohort has been formed to help to gain feedback and input around the instructional technology decisions we need to make as a district. The Cohort met for the first time earlier this week and will met three more times before the end of the school year.
