Bond News: Promise in Progress

Twenty-seven new buses officially went into route circulation the second week of school, supporting the district’s transportation fleet.

Thanks to the support of Midlothian voters, new student Chromebooks funded through Bond 2025 are beginning to make their way into classrooms and into the hands of students across Midlothian ISD.

Midlothian ISD continues to make progress toward putting the people, systems and oversight in place to responsibly deliver the Bond 2025 projects approved by voters. Most recently is the approved selection of Nat Gomez by the Board of Trustees to serve as the district’s Construction Project Specialist for the Bond Program.

Delivering on a voter-approved bond program is multi-faceted and involves more than just staying focused on construction. Bond projects require strong planning, system oversight and reviews, and coordination and accountability at every stage of the program. Midlothian ISD continues to put systems in place to successfully monitor and execute the Bond 2025 Program from planning to construction.

Trustees received an update on the planning and design process for the district’s future Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center at the June school board meeting. The construction project is a key initiative included in the voter-approved Proposition B in the Bond 2025 program.

The Midlothian ISD Board of Trustees approved the purchase of new student technology devices as part of the district’s Bond 2025 program during the June board meeting. The action puts in motion the technology investments funded through the Bond Program and outlined in Proposition C.

Midlothian ISD has officially launched the first construction project funded through the voter-approved Bond 2025 program this summer. The district held a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at Midlothian High School on June 17 to acknowledge the start of the expansive roof replacement project.
